Totally agree...
I cant even say that the campaign is even mediocre because all of its faults. It feels like a shooter from the late 90s, i rather play Quake then this mindless crap. AI, game mechanics, level design is just so bad that you cant understand that you can even sell a game 2009 that is that bad.
I do understand that CoD is mainly a multi player game but still I cant understand the score from critics and many of the people that plays it, because the campaign is still a large part of the game. Many people will never even play the "online part" are people to stupid to understand how bad this game is?
My score on a 10 scale would be, 8 for multi player and 2 for the campaign so i would give it a 5.

Planescape is fairly incredible and I have to admit that when I tried it I was very impressed. I can see your argument that 3D still has a ways to catch up to that incredibly in-depth game... but let's be fair, no other 2D games are even as in-depth.

I adore Planescape because it actually feels like an actual role-playing game, but at the same time it's completely overwhelming. There's so much to read, so much to look into, and so on. I would love another attempt that gradually gets the player into reading over everything but even so it's wonderful and I want to play more. However, some real character customization would have been preferred.

I checked out Deus Ex specifically because of this post. I did not play it long so I admit I did not give it a proper fair shot, but I absolutely abhored it. Inferior graphics? Fine. Lowered hit detection? Okay. Atrocious controls? I will not tolerate that.

Now for all the praise the game has gotten I feel the need to give it another shot and get used to the controls but I could not believe how unintuitive they were. I picked up the sniper rifle as my secondary weapon to use only to discover that by default the ability to zoom in is on a section of keyboard my hands are nowhere near. This is not to mention that the AI (though nothing to complain about for the time the game was released) is not conducive to the open gameplay the game encourages.

However, I will be giving it another shot.
